The Social Side

The Social Side - for all Ostomates

"Seeing you all laughing and joking has made me realise that life does go on after a stoma."
These words were spoken by an ostomate who had been in the chatroom for the first time. It brought home to me how important the "social side" was as part of stoma acceptance.

Chasing My Dream

Chasing My Dream
Mark Flanders took home three trophies, two of them First Place, from the first body building competition he entered. An excellent achievement for anyone. But Mark also has a permanent ileostomy. Read his remarkable story here.

Race for Life

Race for Life
It is exactly 2 years to the day since at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. There could be no better way to celebrate my return to health than to join with 1900 others to raise money for Cancer Research. I did this by taking part in the National "Race for Life" event organised by Cancer Research.
