The Social Side
The Social Side - for all Ostomates
"Seeing you all laughing and joking has made me realise that life does go on after a stoma." These words were spoken by an ostomate who had been in the chatroom for the first time. It brought home to me how important the "social side" was as part of stoma acceptance.
Chatrooms
Ostomy Chatroom This is open 24/7 and you'll find live ostomates there, willing to help. If the room is quiet, stay there a while - people are in and out all the time. Race for Life
Race for Life It is exactly 2 years to the day since at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. There could be no better way to celebrate my return to health than to join with 1900 others to raise money for Cancer Research. I did this by taking part in the National "Race for Life" event organised by Cancer Research. "Cancer Research - Race for Life" from Rachael's Website (very inspirational!)
